My name is Alex Ayala and I am the founder, meadmaker (mazer), and owner for Mythical Buzz. The idea of making wine has always fascinated me. I’ve always had a fascination of discovering the flavors for the many varietals of wine and visiting Texas vineyards. I couldn’t have imagined mead being an option until one fateful day during the pandemic, I said to myself “I have lots of time on my hands, I’d like to make some alcohol. I think I’ll make mead.” So I did all the research, bought all the supplies and started on my first experimental 1-gallon batches. Mead gave me a blank palette to create any range of flavors that my heart could desire.

Fast forward a few years and dozens of batches later, I now have some winner recipes that I can be happy to serve to all of those close to me. Mythical Buzz is more than just mead, its delivering something unique that comes from the idea of using all-natural ingredients without any fake flavors that come from syrups or tablets, and staying away from chemicals that most winemakers use (one of which is sulfites).  The idea is more that just making mead, but in making mead worthy enough to be considered craft —something that we could be proud to put my name behind it. We strive to meet and exceed our own expectations and we hope you are able to enjoy the fruits of our passion.
